Your Wedding Theme

Did you know there are so many styles or themes for weddings? Deciding the style of your wedding early on will help you so much throughout the entire planning process. It allows you keep all the details cohesive and communicate better with vendors. Take a bit of time to find your unique style and use it throughout your entire planning process.

Look at your list. Find the similarities between the words you circled and narrow it down. Pick three words you feel like really describe your unique style (you can also reference your inspiration board to help you). Check all your decisions with these words and use them to communicate with your vendors.

Where

Where are you going to get married? Where you’re from? Where he’s from? Where you’re living now? Where you’re going to end up? Or an exotic location? Deciding where to get married should be between the two of you. You don’t have to get married where you grew up. You don’t need to cater to others and where they live. Remember, the people who you are inviting are people closest to you. They will do all the can to be there no matter where it is. I have flown and driven thousands of miles for weddings. The people who can make it will come. 

 

Choose where you two want to get married. Think of where would be most meaningful and get married there. 

 

 

Remember…

• Keep in mind what will be most convenient for planning. Even though this doesn’t need to be a deal breaker, it is so helpful to get married somewhere you are currently living close to.
• Keep your wedding events in the same place. Once you choose your temple, choose a venue and a wedding night hotel in that same area to minimize time driving.

 

Ask yourself…

• What are our options? (List them all out no matter how likely they are.)
• Is this place meaningful for both of us?
• Is it convenient for planning?
• Is this where we both want to get married?
• How often do we want to be able to revisit this temple or venue? And will it be possible?
