Hands down one of the hardest parts I’ve heard of from brides planning Utah weddings is dealing with the expectations of your parents or anyone else. The pressure from mom and dad and others is so real and it’s so hard to navigate. If you’re feeling a little bogged down by what everyone expects of you or what you feel like they expect, keep reading and press play to hear the whole episode.
How on earth do you navigate the pressure coming from your parents or anyone else? Well, sometimes that pressure is real and sometimes it’s imagined. Whatever pressure you may be feeling, first start with seeing it from their shoes. Your parents feel a ton of pressure from their friends and family. The best thing you can do is start by seeing your Utah wedding from their point of view. Then, you may need to have an honest chat with them. At the end of the day, this is YOUR wedding day. It’s a day to celebrate you and your groom. Hands down the biggest advice past brides give is this: do it your way. Work through the pressure you’re feeling, talk with those you need to, and then plan your wedding to be that… your wedding.
