Oh man. You love him don’t you! Just hearing the word “groom” makes my heart skip a beat. Getting married to the man you’ve fallen in love with? It doesn’t get much better than that.

 

Remember that this is his day too. Let him shine. Let him feel special. Let him have a say, especially in his fashion and details. Embracing and loving your husband for who he is starts now. Remember the post about it being his day too? There are plenty of ways to make your sweetheart feel validated, loved, important, spoiled, and special. You can incorporate his style and personality into your wedding without it infringing on your dreams.

 

Just like you need to feel stunning in your dress, your man needs to feel confident and hot in his suit. Let him have a say! Here are 7 tips for choosing the perfect suit or tux:

1. Coordinate with your wedding theme and dress.

As with all of your wedding, you want your groom’s suit and details to complement the color
scheme and general style of your wedding nicely. It doesn’t need to match a color in your
scheme, even though it can, but it should go nicely with your color scheme. You also want it
to match the style of your dress.

 

2. Suit or tuxedo.

Should he wear a suit or tuxedo? What’s even the difference? It’s honestly hard to tell the
difference between the two. To make it simple, tuxedos usually have satin accents and suits
do not. Tuxedos generally do not have belt loops so suspenders are worn with them, while a
belt is typically worn with a suit. Bowties generally accompany a tuxedo, while a tie
generally accompanies a suit, but this is definitely not a rule by any means. Tuxedos are
usually worn at more formal, traditional weddings, while suits are more laid-back. So, when
deciding what is best, consider the general theme of your wedding, your preference, your
groom’s preference, and cost. Typically suits are bought and kept while tuxedos are often
rented because they are more expensive. What matters most is that he’s wearing something
he loves that fits him well.

 

3. To vest or not to vest.

Adding a vest underneath the suit or tuxedo is another decision you need to make. Both
look great and it depends on the style of your wedding and your personal preferences. If
you choose to have a vest, I recommend choosing a color very similar to the color of the suit so it’s not distracting.

 

4. Get him a new white shirt.

He is going to take his jacket off at some point. Get him a new white shirt that fits him well
and looks nice. Even if he already has ten, get him a new one for your wedding.

 

5. Consider the season.

You don’t want him in a thick wool suit for a summer wedding miserably sweating bullets.
Some suits and tuxedos are made of heavier materials while others are made of lighter
materials. Find the weight that makes sense for the season you are getting married in.

 

6. The perfect fit.

Just like your dress should fit you perfectly, so should your man’s suit. Whether you’re
buying or renting, get it fitted and have the necessary alterations done. Have him make sure
he can squat and sit in it. You want him to have it slim, comfortable, and perfectly tailored
to his shape.

 

7. Button-up buttercup.

The lower button of a suit is always left undone. Remember that. If it only has one button,
do it up. But if it has more than one button, the bottom button should be left undone.
