Regret Free Wedding Podcast: Episode 9: Should I Hire a Wedding Planner with Eventfully Jacqueline
Today on the podcast we had Jacqueline from Eventfully Jacqueline. Jacqueline has always been good at planning and bringing people together. She got into wedding planning because she studied business and was connected with a wedding venue in Zion. They convinced her she had the skills and there was a need for it! So she started Eventfully Jacqueline and booked a wedding before she even had her business cards. She is passionate about weddings because she cares so much about brides soaking up special moments on their wedding day and wants the memories they have to be nothing short of special. She is a romantic at heart. Jacqueline loves her couples so much and is literally bursting as they walk down aisle. She also loves building a dream vendor team. Curating a dream team of vendors is truly the key to executing a perfect wedding day.
On the show today we had Jacqueline share the pros and cons of hiring a wedding planner.
Most couples are doing it for the first time. They don’t realize just how much goes into it because they’re not just planning their wedding they’re juggling busy schedules and other responsibilities all while under the pressure to plan a perfect wedding.
You don’t know what you don’t know until you’re already in the middle of it. A lot of details get overlooked but wedding coordinators can prepare you for ahead of time so they don’t get forgotten.
Your vendor team works better when they have someone there to lead them and that shouldn’t have to be you or your mom so that you can enjoy your day without a care in the world because you know it’s all taken care of.
Coordinators know which vendors are going to help execute your dream. Wedding coordinators know all the little things like quirks vendors may have and can help you create your perfect team. When you have a solid team of vendors it’s the bread and butter of a wedding. It’s stress relief for the bride when you work with vendors you know and trust.
Hiring a coordinator frees up so much time during your engagement so you can enjoy it and spend more time together.
But it’s an INVESTMENT for one of the most important days of your life. Never has she ever heard someone say they regretted hiring a wedding coordinator but rather they’re just so happy with how much better and smoother their wedding went. Coordinators are a huge advocate for their couples. A wedding coordinator is here to help your dream come to life.
There are some planners out there that are overbearing so look for one who isn’t. Jacqueline is about bringing your personality into your wedding and isn’t overbearing. It’s about you and making your dreams come true. Find a coordinator who is about bringing your personality and relationship into your wedding day. Look for someone who you connect with and understands your vision and you can trust to run with it.
Jacqueline and I finished up by talking about some big takeaways and her top three tips to any bride are make it a priority to invest in a great vendor, preserve your bridal bouquet, and focus on what matters the most which is your love and the commitment you’re making to your best friend for the rest of your life.
Even if you cannot afford to hire a wedding planner, YOU HAVE TO LET PEOPLE HELP YOU. Even if it’s bridesmaids and friends, have them help you find vendors and have them do some of the nitty-gritty work for you. If you trust them then let them help. Even if you can’t have a wedding planner, have someone in charge of logistics on your wedding day. You should not be the go-to person to direct the day. The only thing that should be totally left to your care on your wedding day is getting married.
