Bride Guide #49 gives you tips on all the little extra things that you have to remember while planning a wedding by Logan UT Wedding Photographer Lauren Kay Photography.

Remember how it’s those small and simple things that really make a difference? Don’t forget them.
In the busyness of wedding planning, it’s easy to overlook the things that will really add meaning. Tell
your groom why you’re so excited to marry him, write notes to your family and friends expressing how
much they mean to you, go get a manicure with your mom, display something someone made for you as
part of your décor, incorporate an heirloom, have your florist send your mom flowers after the big day,
get or make gifts to show your love and appreciation for others.
Take some time to think about how you can really make your day meaningful and special in small and
simple ways.
Make sure you and your groom are on the same page about everything. You may have thought of it, but
did he? Don’t nag, but overcommunicate to make sure you are both on the same page. Even down to
the super little details. Things like, if you are changing for the exit, is he? Does he have what he needs
packed for the wedding night and honeymoon? Is he giving his phone to someone else so you can be
present with each other on your big day? Are you getting each other a gift? Is he going to write you a
note to read on the big day, too? Literally. Communicate it all. Don’t try to hint things or be vague or
expect him to read your mind. He’s not a woman so he thinks in a different way than you do.
Communicate.
It’s also important to remember all the little technical details. Do you have your marriage license? And
your witnesses? What about the cake knife, the flower girl basket, lights? What you’re going to drive
away in? Does anyone have food allergies? Do you have all the signs, tips, party favors, and table
settings that you need? Do you have pens for the guestbook table? What about your passports and I.D.?
Are you going to do “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue?” Take a
deep breath. Take a minute to think and make sure you haven’t forgotten anything.
