Bride Guide #37 is 5 tips on choosing the perfect photographer for your wedding, by Payson Utah Wedding Photographer Lauren Kay Photography.
I think your photographer is the vendor you should spend the most time and energy finding. Two reasons. One, your pictures are one of the most important things you spend your money on. And two, your photographer can connect you with all your other vendors. So, here are five tips to finding the perfect photographer for you:

Every photographer has a style. Maybe they take really bright, colorful photos. Or maybe they take more dark, moody photos. Make sure you know what their style is and that you love it.
Like I said before, your photographer is going to be a really intimate part of your day. Make sure you choose someone you both really like and can see being with you during every part of your day.
In addition to a photographer’s style, they usually have types of images they focus on capturing. Maybe they’re all about those posed shots, or maybe they love capturing your candid moments, or maybe they love making sure there’s a picture of every detail. Decide what is important to you, and find a photographer who focuses on those types of images.
You definitely should stick to your budget. Although I don’t recommend skimping on a photographer, I know that your dream photographer might not be in your budget. Don’t be afraid to ask your dream photographer for referrals, even if you can’t afford their services.
Find someone who genuinely cares and provides excellent service. So many photographers offer sweet little bonuses because they want to make your day extra special. Find people who care and have a heart of service.

Tip:
Book your photographer early on! Some photographers offer extra bonuses like a free engagement session that won’t apply to you if you wait until the end to book them. Photographers are also a great wedding planning resource. And, they book up fast! Once you know your date, or even before then, ask your photographer!
