Bride Guide #43 gives you 3 tips on finding the perfect florist By South Weber Utah Wedding Photographer Lauren Kay Photography.

Look at their portfolio or ask for images of their past bouquets. Do they match the style you’re going for? Have they produced work that is similar to what you are hoping for? You want to work with someone who’s work already matches your style.
Ask what flowers are in season, what they can do to get the colors you want, for an in- person consultation, or any other questions you may have. Get a feel for how knowledgeable they are and how easy they will be to work with. You want them to be kind and easy to work with just like every other vendor.
Pinterest is amazing but it isn’t real life! Communicate your vision clearly but then sit back and let your florist work their magic. It will not look like all the bouquets you pinned. That is a good thing! That means it is completely and uniquely yours.
How to pin on a boutonniere:
1. The boutonniere should be on the left lapel with the stem running parallel to the lapel.
2. Insert the pin from the back of the lapel.
3. Run it through the stem.
4. Run it back through the lapel. So in the end of the pin should be between the lapel and suit where it can’t impale anyone.
5. If you have two pins, do the same thing with the second pin, making an x with the pins to make it extra stable.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Or, if I’m your photographer, I will happily do it!
Holding your bouquet:
1. Have the florist tell you where the front is and hold it so the front is facing out.
2. Hold it right around your belly-button. Or hold it in one hand with your arm down and the flowers
facing out.
3. When you hug people, be conscious of where you’re bouquet is going.
Meaningful tip:
Have your florist send your mom flowers after your wedding.
Flower shop or independent florist?
Flower shops are usually a little less expensive than going with an independent florist. However, if
you really want a unique bouquet that is personal to you, an independent florist is better qualified
to provide very custom florals.
