If you’re reading this, you obviously know I’m a Logan Utah photographer. You probably know I like candid genuineness. That I love being a mom. That I’m in love with my hunky husband. But here are 10 things you may not know about me.
1. I can out eat a teenage boy when it comes to pancakes. I actually can eat quite a bit. And when I’m pregnant or nursing, I can really eat a lot. I’m that girl that people think won’t eat a lot and then I pretty much always surprise them, or sit there trying to decide if it’s awkward to ask for more. And when it comes to pancakes, don’t get me started! I love them. And when I was at home with two older teenage brothers, I literally out ate them every Saturday morning.

2. I get emotionally involved. I really care about other people. When someone tells me about something hard they’re going through, I can’t help but be in it too. I think about it, I pray about it, it really does matter to me. Same thing goes for really awesome things that happen, I can’t stop thinking about them! When I was younger I wanted to be a therapist, but once I realized this about myself, I knew it would be too hard on me because I wouldn’t be able to leave work at home. Needless to say, I decided to go a different route.

3. I laugh easily. I giggle. It’s my initial reaction – when I’m nervous, when I’m embarrassed, when I think something is funny – obviously. I like to laugh and I’m easily amused. I’m also decently gullible. And sometimes it takes me a minute to get people’s jokes, so I’m that one sitting there with the confused look who laughs a few seconds too late.

4. I’m sensitive and a crier. Ask my husband! I cry really easily. It doesn’t take much to get the water works going. Sad, happy, not sure – I just cry. I’m the one you’ll find crying when you do your daddy daughter dance or when you hold your baby for the first time. Even though I may have just met you, like I said, I get emotionally involved which often means tears. ????

5. I’m a planner. I love to-do lists, my paper planner, and getting projects done. Even during summer breaks in high school, I always had a project I’d come up with so I had something to keep me busy. Being wife to a pilot isn’t super conducive to planning – aviation is super unpredictable sometimes – so I’m learning to fly by the seat of my pants more, which has been good for me.

6. I may come across shy but I’m actually really social. I’m one of those introverted extroverts. I love being with people. I go crazy after a few days without a playdate or something that gets me interacting with others, so I make lots of time for things like that in my schedule. And I actually really like performing and speaking in front of others (as long as I’ve had time to plan, haha).

7. I’ve always struggled with self-esteem. I say this because I think it’s helpful. So to anyone who thinks I’ve got it all together, that’s a lie. I’ve found that it’s often the women who I thought had tons of self-esteem that actually struggle. It’s a battle every day for me to put myself out there and try to only care what I think and what God thinks of me. But I know it’s worth the wrestle.

8. I’m a peacemaker. I really, really, really don’t like contention and I want everyone to get along! I *usually* care more about keeping the peace than being right or heard. I have my occasional “red” personality moments and I’m actually decently opinionated, but for the most part I keep the peace.

9. I’m a young one! I skipped a grade in school, graduated at 17, got married at 19, and had my first baby at 21 and I’ll have my second baby at 23. It totally wasn’t the life I had mapped out for myself – I was going to go college, go on a mission, and get a master’s degree and then get married and have kids. But God had something different in store for me. It has its own struggles but has been beautiful and I wouldn’t trade it because it’s been just what I need.

10. I’m nerdy. Oh yeah. I love Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Star Trek… basically all your classic nerdy things. And I love to learn. After I graduated college, I missed it. And even though they were stressful, I never really minded assignments and tests. I listen to book on CDs, especially self-improvement ones, when I’m driving, and I seriously love to soak it all in.
